mark wareham’s family tree

Mark Wareham is the Unison Branch Secretary for the Salisbury Hospital.

“ I saw the information about South Wilts free service and set up a site for my union branch.” Mark explained and went on to say: “I then figured out that I could use it for something personal. I have an interest in tracing my family tree and I have been researching the archives in Dorset and Somerset for several years. I thought I would be able to share the information I had gathered about family history with others so much more easily via a website.
Mark added: “I decided to have a stab at putting my research online and it has been much easier than I thought it would be. After two years, I now have quite an extensive site and it receives hits from all over the world.” Mark has had contact from folk in Canada, New Zealand, Norway and Australia, many of whom are family and who have been able to supply photos and important wills, birth, marriage and death certificates.
Among other surprising and exciting finds which have come to light as a direct result of the Mark’s website are gallantry awards and medals he didn’t know about. And with links on genealogy forums Mark has an ongoing supply of contacts with fellow researchers and extended family that are able to track him down.
